They have valet parking but honestly there was free space out in the street so I saved myself those $9 bucks. I went straight to the bar. The service was fast. I tried their mixed fajitas. They were okay. The peach margarita was delicious!

Great food!! We all got something a little different but I got the fajitas. I thought they were fantastic. The guacamole to start was a real treat.

It was a little pricey, I wouldn't mind if the food were actually good. The guac is horrible, it literally tastes like cardboard... and yes I've tried cardboard. Id probably only be back to have drinks, I did enjoy the inside aesthetic look.

The food and service is ok. The drinks are good and strong! The parking is valet and they charge $7.00. Parking is a bit much, I think. Over all it's ok...

I was told this is the oldest Mexican food place in LA, it couldn't have made it this long unless it was really good! Food and service was great, my authentico!

Let me start with the fact that this place does not sell authentic Mexican food it is very white wash. The wait for our food was very long and when they finally brought our food it was not very appetizing. The menu doesn’t include beverages and they had very few non-alcoholic drinks you have to wait for the waiter to tell you the beverages they offer. Also some of the menus didn’t include the last page and certain foods were sold at certain times on specific days which I found very unfair. Also the table was shaking the whole time because of a steam machine on the other side of the wall. When we asked for some sour cream they charged us for it with our telling us. When we ordered refills they messed up the order and we didn’t get the drinks we asked for. The only good thing was the valet parking because t was cheap and had a very good service! If it was up to me I would not return to this restaurant again anytime soon!

Place is nice and big ! Seated right away. Food was okay, not a lot of options. Personally felt that the food lacked flavor, was bland and feel like they masked it with cheese. Service was wack! I get they are busy but had to ask for utensils 3 times, after receiving our food. Not worth it, but first time and may be the last.

Love the atmosphere of real Mexico . Make sure you sit in the old section. Food is excellent well priced and plenty of it..but I miss the waitresses that dressed in their old Mexican costumes.

I love Mexican food but EL Cholo is better for their alcohol.. the last few times I've been there the tamale was the worst I've had in a long time.. the meat they use did not taste fresh.. managers and staff are very friendly and they would have taken it back if I had brought it to their attention...

The food was great! The service was fast and friendly. All the staff was very attentive to our needs. We were loud 😂 celebrating my son's birthday but the staff didn't seem upset with us. LoL I love the food and the drinks. I'll definitely be back here for future celebrations!

I ordered the enchiladas suizas which were tasty. However, please note that this is a "Spanish cafe" that serves up Southwest style Mexican (from the State of Sonora) which is more similar to Tex-Mex versus Mexican food from Central Mexico (as in States of Jalisco, Zacatecas or Michoacan that some folks -- like me -- were raised on). Also, they only have Valet parking for $7.

Service was geat, drinks were great the ambiance was great, food was good but not great, the beans and rice were dry and lacked flavor, the corn tortillas were not good. I was hoping for hand made tortillas but these tasted store bought. I will be back hopefully they will address these 3 things

I got the prawn super burrito. It's was pretty mediocre, and I have pretty low standards given that I live in CA. Way too much sour cream, not enough guacamole, the pinto beans were pretty bland, and the shrimp was nothing special. My friend got the crane Masada platter and it looked a bit dry. She said it was only OK. Not sure what all the hype is about, but maybe I ordered the wrong thing?

The original El Cholo on Western has for years been one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. The food and service are consistently good. It's worth a special trip between May and October for the Green Corn Tamales, or anytime for the Blue Corn Enchiladas.

The food was not anything special in my opinion. I have lived in Southern California for about 17 years and have had the opportunity to eat lots of authentic Mexican food. The service was excellent. I also found the booths to be very uncomfortable. I admit I am not skinny but they were tight unless you were very small. I am handicapped and getting up and out of both was difficult. I would not return. As they had a lot of customers it might have been just me.

This place was amazing!! We went here on a whim because we were in the area. They have a little valet parking lot and we paid $3.50 to park it for lunch. Which is totally not bad. Huge restaurant, and the staff was so nice! My mother and I shared the steak fajitas, and they were out of this world amazing!! These fajitas had carrots, zucchini, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and meat! The steak was delicious, but the star was really the veggies!! Who knew having all of those veggies would make the dish so good?? The Flan was so good, and then as their after dinner sweet, they gave us hand add pralines!! We will be back!!!

This place is simple and lovely. Staff was on consistent and kind. It's' a wonderful French experience with a neighborhood feeling. The food reminds me of my trips to Paris eating at the neighborhood classy cafes yet feeling like you truly belong. My mouth is dancing with the flavors of Escargot, scallops, spinach, potatoes .... sooooo delicious... Totally coming back and bringing friends!

So good. Valet parking like $3.50. Very stiff margarita drinks and huge portion meals. Staff super nice and accommodating to my little daughter, which is a huge plus. Would come here again no doubt.

A historic L.A. Mexican eatery. Located in the Wilshire central area. Parking is not a problem with valet service or self park. I would still suggest going after peak hours. The original family recipes are still being prepared with distinctive sauces. Once you go El Cholo you will add it to your places of choice.

I am determined to go back only to give service a second chance. The day I picked to sit here seemed like a day with a shortage of staff issue. I am all about giving places like people the benefit of the doubt. 1st Lakers game night after Kobe's passing, so allot of us where trying to find a chill place to watch this at. I want to think place is not used to that midweek crowd, therefore what seemed like understaffed. 📓🖋 only chips and salsa for me next time, (being a cook makes it really hard to be mesmerized with typical Mex. dishes) oh but their drinks are Def. worth the 2nd opportunity.

It's ok if you live near by, and want to spend a lot of money. Your better off eating of a taco truck. And invite 20 friends to come with you. You would enjoy it better. 165.00 for six to with no drinks. 7.00 to park and then they want a 40.00 tip. Plus a service fee. Will not go to this place ever again. The good thing they don't charge for heat burn. I give the appetizer an A the rest D. Service C. You can get better service at Denny's .

The food was subpar. I've actually had better food at Chevys. For what you get the prices are rather high. There was a bitter aftertaste with most of the food. The bright spots the guacamole was very tasty as was the rice and the drinks were strong. I would not patronize this place again there are way too many other Mexican Restaurants to eat at in Los Angeles.
